Trump Slams Iran’s Nuclear Proposal, Says Tehran Backtracked on Uranium Deal

President Donald Trump sharply criticized Iran’s latest nuclear proposal on Monday, calling it “unacceptable” and accusing Tehran of backing away from earlier commitments regarding enriched uranium.

Speaking from the Oval Office, Trump said Iranian officials had previously agreed to remove enriched nuclear material from a site damaged by U.S. strikes, but the written proposal sent to Washington no longer included that promise.

“They agreed with us, and then they took it back,” Trump said, adding that the proposal was “weak” and not serious enough for the United States to consider.

Trump reiterated that the U.S. position remains unchanged: Iran must never obtain a nuclear weapon. He warned that any deal allowing Iran a path to nuclear capability would not be accepted.

The president also expressed frustration with Iran’s leadership, suggesting that hard-line factions inside the country are preventing a possible agreement despite some officials wanting a deal.

Commenting on the fragile ceasefire situation, Trump said it was on “massive life support” and warned that tensions could escalate further if negotiations fail.

He maintained that Iran has already been “militarily defeated” and insisted that Washington would continue pressuring Tehran until a stronger agreement is reached.
